G-Metrix an opportunity
Some students may be wasting resources that has been provided by the district.
G-Metrix is a program that is afforded to career and technology course such as Business Information Management (BIM) by the La Joya Independent School District.
BIM teacher Yesenia Torres said, ” G-Metrix is an application where student practice skills they learn in Microsoft office.”
Microsoft Office is a collection of software created by Microsoft that we use in our everyday lives.
Not all students are taking advantage of this free program that is provided by the district, but there are some who have.
Yesenia Torres said, “Fifty percent of students truly take advantage of the free training available to them.”
Student Council president, Leslie Herrera, said that when she compared her home campus to Carter it made her realize that she has access to things many others students in the district do not have.
“Advantages” refer to the skills that students learn when they practice for the certification exam.
Andrea Olmedo recalls her experience in class and said, “Cuando yo estaba en BIM, nadien ponia atencion.”
She went on to mention that many did not pay attention in those classes.
Stephania Reyna took said, “Todo depende en la maestra si haciamos G-Metrix o no.”
Both Andrea and Stephania said that Torres enforced G-Metrix.
Yesenia Torres encouraged her class to do the G-Metrix practices along with the exams in order to obtain the Microsoft Specialist certificate.
