What Does Christmas Even Mean?
Christmas is something many people around the world celebrate, from Christians (that makeup more than one billion of the 7.7 billion people that make up the world population) celebrating Christ’s birthday. Or even a day of gift-giving or exchange for other non-Christian. Its significance has come to question, time, and time again.
What is Christmas?
“For me, Christmas is about being grateful to have made it through another year, being able to see family members I haven’t seen in a long time, celebrating the holiday with them,” Junior Kaylee Rodriguez said.
The differing ideologies in the United States of America are a wide plethora of such as we see a range of cultures that can clash and so much so that even those who put up decorations or celebrate early are looked down upon by many.
“I actually annoyed at the season since people start celebrating it too early, but I believe Christmas has become a holiday where we demonstrate our love to the people around us with gifts that are bought personally for their liking, and that the whole season brings peace amongst all people.” said Junior Itza Rodriguez.
With these differing concepts of what peoples perception of Christmas is. Some may say it’s a capitalist plot that makes money go around by exploiting labor, others believe that it’s a white man’s tradition. Though as hard-hitting as those thoughts may be, when you ask yourself, whats the meaning of Christmas? What would it be?
