Student council and class officers are brainstorming and receiving input from the student body.

Students elected seven candidates to represent the 2021-2022 classes. Additionally, 27 candidates were elected to represent the four classes.

Elected as Senior Class President, Esmeralda Loera. Loera is one of many individuals partaking in various activities such as UIL and NHS.

“I am really looking forward to working with everyone. I am really looking forward to events such as pep rallies and career days for the seniors. I am also looking into volleyball games, academic stuff, and high the fun parts of high school. I really want the freshmen, the sophomores, to get the high school experience I once got,” Loera said.

Alongside Esmeralda in a leadership position is Rubie Lopez, vice-president for the Junior Class. Lopez’s plans and thoughts about the school year and going through it consisted of hearing “everyone’s opinion” and activities with the community, such as fundraisers.

“I would want to have as many fundraisers as possible, because the years before we haven’t had much time to fund-raise, or time at all, because we really want to have our prom, and I know a lot of people are looking forward to prom,” Lopez said.

When Pricila Martinez, a junior, was asked about the progress and dedication of the junior class officers as far as the last few weeks has gone, Martinez said, “I feel content” because her class officers “have accomplished so much even though we’re in the middle of a pandemic.” Martinez even hopes the class officers can bring the students closer together.
